2PL Meaning in Logistics

2PL, or Second Party Logistics, refers to companies using a transportation and logistics operator to handle some or all of their supply chain activities. This method allows companies to outsource part of their logistics operations to a third party, such as a carrier or transport company.

2PL logistics is a common method used by companies that do not have transportation, or distribution networks or want to reduce the cost and complexity of managing their supply chain. Examples of 2PL services include warehousing, order fulfilment, and distribution.
