What is FOT?

FOT stands for Free on Truck, a transportation term used to describe the delivery of goods. Under FOT, the seller is responsible for loading the goods onto the truck, but the buyer assumes responsibility for the goods once they are loaded and transported.

Free on Truck is one of several Incoterms, a set of standardised terms used in international trade to define the responsibilities of buyers and sellers for delivering goods. FOT is commonly used in transporting goods by road, as it allows for the easy transfer of responsibility for the goods between the seller and the buyer. FOT is a common term in logistics and is often used in negotiating contracts between buyers and sellers.
