What is High-Bay Warehouse?

A high-bay warehouse is a type of storage facility with a high ceiling, typically 12 to 50 meters tall.

A high-bay warehouse’s design allows maximum storage capacity by utilising vertical space. The warehouse is equipped with tall shelves that can hold multiple pallets of goods, and there are specialised machines such as forklifts or stacker cranes to retrieve items from high shelves. The pallet spaces are carefully arranged to maximise the warehouse’s storage capacity. High-bay warehouses are used in various industries, including manufacturing, retail, and distribution, and are ideal for storing large quantities of goods in a relatively small footprint. The height of the warehouse also means that it can be automated, reducing the need for manual labour in storing and retrieving goods.
