What is MSDS?

MSDS stands for Material Safety Data Sheet, a mandatory document providing information about hazardous materials in cargo or shipment.

The MSDS includes details about the physical and chemical properties of the material, potential hazards, and precautions for safe handling and storage. It is required by law for hazardous materials in most countries and serves as a reference for emergency responders in case of accidents or spills. The MSDS is typically provided by the manufacturer, supplier, or importer of the material and must be kept on file for the duration of the material’s use. It is also commonly referred to as the hazardous packing declaration.
